Samantha Berg’s body was found by two employees in a courtyard behind Stross Management Ltd. at 7829 127 Avenue. The area is normally used for parking semi-trucks and trailers. The 19-year-old sex-trade worker was discovered on Jan. 25, 2005. An Autopsy resulted in no cause of death, but was listed as a homicide.
Workers were moving one of their vehicles when they found a body in the snow. The body had been covered by snow but warm weather had exposed the hands and feet plus a portion of the woman’s head. Some think she was murdered by a serial killer in the area, as many of that years victims lead “high-risk” lifestyles.
In December 2003, Berg supplied her personal details to Project KARE.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service dispatch line at 423-4567. There have been 26 homicides in Edmonton so far in 2005. The most in any year is 28, which happened in 1990 and 2004.
